Over three years ago Auntie Angie and I spoke with your parents and we decided that all of you had plenty of "things" and that if you needed more things we, as parents, were in a position to take care of your needs. Wants were another issue entirely and we discussed that, instead of giving each of you "stuff" we would provide experiences instead.
Shortly thereafter we showed up in El Cerrito and since we were together in-person we were told you'd prefer to received stuff. So, we bought you the baseball glove you wanted.
After that both because we weren't in-person and we very much wanted to provide you experiences as opposed to stuff, we provided an all-expenses paid trip to visit us in Austin when we had other fun things planned specific to your interests.
